Materials
- Computers or tablets with internet access
- The book that the student chooses for the activity
Procedure
- Start by discussing what an animation is and show some examples.
- Have each student choose a favorite scene from a book they have read.
- Instruct students to sketch out their scene on paper, including any characters or objects in the picture.
- Next, introduce Brush Ninja and demonstrate how to use it for creating animations.
- Students can then begin creating their animations using Brush Ninja.
- Encourage students to add details and make changes as they progress through their work, reminding them that this is an iterative process.
- Once completed, students should save their animations as gifs and submit them for assessment.
Assessment

- Completion of the task within the given time frame
- Creativity and originality of the animation produced
- How well the animation captures the essence of the chosen scene from the book
Extension

- Create a gallery of all submitted animations for everyone in class to view and appreciate one anotherβs hard work.

Examples of Brush Ninja in Education
DES 4th graders in Computer Science learning how to make a Gif (not the peanut butter! π) using Brush Ninja. They picked it up pretty quick since it is not too much different from filming in stop-motion which they did last year in 3rd grade.
