Hi!

Hope you had as productive a January as I did. In last months email I mentioned that I had new 2 projects planned for this year, and that has already changed.

I started January in my code editor, working on project number 1. My idea was to create something akin to the old programming language Logo. Logo is a programming language that can be used to draw shapes and images, and was commonly used as a way to teach the basics of programming to beginners.

I wanted to make a 3d version, but I’ve not done anything like this before and so I thought I would make a simpler 2d version that I could then update to do everything I want. Originally it was going to be a stepping stone into the full version that I wouldn’t release; but I think this version will be good enough that I can publish this and then work on the 3d version after.

So that’s what I’m going to do. If you’re a Patron then I’ll be making it available to test this week. I also hope to make it available as a Beta version to Brush Ninja Members - but that is something new that I will need to work out.

Once it’s all finished and tested I’ll be making it available to everyone. And once it’s live I can start learning how to make 3d graphics that work in a web browser so I can try to make a 3d version as well!

Animated Gif Creator

Late last year I released the sound effects module and it seems to be working pretty well. If you have used it I’d love to get some feedback so please do let me know what you think.

I’ve since been thinking about other things I can do with sound and have realised we can use Javascript to make computers talk, so maybe I could do something with that. I need to think on this some more, but I think it would be fun to get the computer to say something during an animation.

I’m looking forward to sharing more on Code Ninja next month. Hopefully it will be closer to being published so that I can start looking into making the 3d version!
