Animation is a topic I have been interested in for as long as I can remember. I was always drawing as a child, and my parents used to say I would be working at Disney as a grown up.

But that didn’t happen. I am a web developer, but I still have an interest in making things move, and that’s how I found myself creating a web app that lets you create animated gifs.

Now, I am not an expert, but I have done some animating in my time. I studied animation at university and I spent 3 and a half years animating for video game advertising. As such I’ve picked up some tips and tricks over the years - and it’s these I want to share with you.

In this book I will start off by covering Brush Ninja and how to use it, and then I will run through the process of creating some fun animations in the online editor.
